Superman DCEU characters A Message to Russo Brothers

During a Q&A event which was held by The Russo Brothers, a fan asked Joe and Anthony Russo if they have ever considered making the jump over to DC to take some of their characters to the big screen. Anthony Russo responded by stating that he and his brother had always been bigger fans of Marvel Comics and even admitted that his brother Joe still has a bunch of the old comic books stored away in a closet. However, he also said that the DC characters are far too powerful to be interesting and were not relatable. Joe Russo added that they grew up in Cleveland during a time when the city was bankrupt and stated that they always felt a connection the underdog characters of Marvel Comics.

Everybody is entitled to have their own opinion. What Anthony Russo meant was according to them, DC Characters are not relatable because they are "too powerful" and its not because they hate DC and their Characters. The bloggers however headlined their articles quoting "Infinity War Directors Say DC Characters Are Too Unrelatable". That was misleading and they wanted to cause a stir up among the fans.

Now, I would like to explain why "I" think their view of superhero's are inaccurate.

Question : Do you relate a character to yourself based on their super powers and nothing else?

If you think the answer is the answer is yes, then you don't know who Superheros are and what they represent. The term Superhero dates back to atleast 1917, where heros such as Robin Hood, The
Shadow, The Phantom were fighting crime without any Super powers. People loved those characters then and they love them even now. Then there are characters such as Batman, Green Arrow who are favorites among many. Why are these characters popular among people? Is it that they don't have any powers? Or is it that they Inspire people by helping the needful? Now let's take an example of the strongest Superhero and most loved character Superman. Superman has Super Strength, Super Speed, X-ray vision, laser beams and yet when you ask a person why he loves the character and why relates himself to Superman he will tell you that Superman is an "Inspiration" to them. Superman
Inspires them to help others. Superman Inspires them to Inspire Hope in others. These days superhero's are much more that flying around and stopping bad guys. There are hero's who represent Women, Ethnic and religious minorities, LGBT communities, Language minority, Physically disabled people. Going out and stating that Superhero are Unrelatable because they are too Strong is just Ignorance at highest level especially for a Director who directs superhero movies. They need to understand that Superhero are much more than that.

Below is a small example why DC Characters are not relatable but also Inspirational and hopeful -

Doctors Give Children DC Superhero Formula to Fight Cancer :

The important lesson here is that you don't need Super powers to be a Superhero. Helping people and Inspiring others makes you a hero too. The World needs people like that more than ever.
